Olympic torch toured through my hometown-Jilin province the last 2 days

The Olympic torch toured through the cities of Songyuan and Jilin, in northeast
China's Jilin province.

2008 pigeons were released in Songyuan's Olympic Square, before former
Changchun official, Li Shu, began the relay. A total of 110 torchbearers passed
the torch along an eight-kilometer route.

Songyuan is definately my hometown.I was born ,and spent my happy childhood
there!

Jilin city was formerly called "Jilin Wula", which means "along the river" in the
Manchu language. It's referred to as a river city because of the Songhua River
that runs through it, and is surrounded on all sides by the Changbai Mountains.

108 torchbearers passed the torch along a 7.7-kilometer route. The torch then
headed to Yanbian, the last leg of Jilin province.

The Beijing Olympic torch relay in Yanji in of Jilin Province, kicked off at 2:10
p.m. on Wednesday in Yanbian University.

The first torchbearer was police officer Jin Guangzhen. The flame will be relayed
by 188 torchbearers over 7.8 kilometers. The relay was previously scheduled to
begin at 8:00 am, but was delayed because of heavy rain.

The torch relay will continue in Shenyang City, capital of Liaoning Province
today.
